Weeks into the auditions round and Mumbai selection the top 16 contestants of Indian Idol 5 are finally out. Asit and Arvind had to fight hard in the ultimate face off to secure their position in Indian Idol 5 Top 16 Contestants. The fifth season of Indian Idol or IndianIdol5 premiered on April 26, 2010, on Sony Entertainment Television (India). Anu Malik returned as the judge, Salim Merchant and Sunidhi Chauhan were the two new judges this season. The IndianIdol Five saw numerous changes to the format of the show.
